El Mirage, AZ Community

Located in Central Arizona, in Maricopa County, El Mirage is 16 miles northwest of Phoenix in the west valley. It encompasses 11 square miles, and has a wonderful small town feel.
With Surprise to the north, Peoria to the east, Glendale and Avondale to the south and the White Tank Mountains to the west, El Mirage is surrounded by neighboring towns, and has easy access to other communities.

El Mirage began in 1937, when farm workers settled on the west bank of the Agua Fria River, looking for a permanent place to raise their families. Slowly and steadily, the area grew with more and more farm workers making El Mirage their home. Incorporated in 1951, it was farming and agriculture that made the town prosper. Today, while farming is still a big boost to the economy of El Mirage, commercial and industrial areas have also been developed.

New homes are being built everyday in El Mirage. Existing properties in mature neighborhoods can also be found as well, along with large, master planned communities. The town retains it’s “small town atmosphere” with many festivals and activities planned throughout the year for the enjoyment of the residents.
