Chandler, AZ Community

Located south of Mesa, and just 20 minutes from Phoenix’s Sky Harbour Airport, Chandler has homes to fit every taste and budget. Chandler is home to many businesses, art galleries, retail shops and a wide variety of dining establishments.

Founded in the early 1900’s, by Dr. Alexander John Chandler, the first veterinarian of Arizona, Historic Downtown Chandler was well ahead of its time. The San Marcos Hotel and Golf Course of Downtown Chandler, built in 1913 is still the anchor of the downtown square, and has been a draw to many celebrities since it’s creation. Excellent restaurants and art galleries set the stage for the Chandler Jazz Festival which is held Downtown each year.

A variety of recreation activities and classes are available in Chandler, including Youth Sports, Senior Classes and Programs, Adult Sports and Aquatic Lessons and Programs. Parks abound, from small neighborhood parks, to larger community parks. Choose from specialty parks such as dog parks, bike parks and skate parks, too.

Golf courses and shopping are plentiful in Chandler. After a morning on the links, take the Loop 101 to Chandler Boulevard to the beautiful Chandler Fashion Center Mall for a day of shopping, dining and movie going.

Chandler also has a Senior Center, a Kids Zone, 4 Libraries, and is home to Chandler Regional Hospital, which serves the east valley. It is known for its Family Birth Center and community outreach program.

If you have children, you’ll be pleased with the variety of educational choices, including public, private, and charter schools.

Close to Phoenix, yet self-sufficient, Chandler is a great place to live in Arizona.
